The Art of Food
In this project we came up with an idea of what we wanted to learn, then we designed an art project bases on what we wanted to learn about. We then stared by doing doing research on the the things that we think we will need to know. Then we stared our actual project, then we put them on the wall.

Artist statement: My peace is photographs of food that I have made. I used the elements of photography to help make them more professional. I wanted to express my love of cooking throw my favorite form of art, photography. I have been taking pictures of food seance is stated working in kitchens, but this really gave me an opportunity to study the art of photographing food. This project also gave me an opportunity to make my website that I will use to document my travels next year. This project helped me grow as a photographer and as a chef.

Design Your Own Art Project Pre-Assessment
Environmental Documentary Project
To start off I spent time thinking of what topic I wanted to make my documentary on, I was really interested in finding out more about the methane hot spot. This is the topic that I decided to do my move on. The things that were most helpful for finding out about the hot spot is instructional videos. For making the movie the most helpful thing was content lecture.
Project Reflection
What is old, and what is new in any work of art? Competition is one of the oldest things in art it is also really necessary for good art. For this project the topics that we were talking about were relatively new topics.
How and why is art used as a vehicle for communication? Artist use their art to make these view heard, for example in this project I made the video covay how detrimental the oil and gas industry is to the planet. They do by picking certain images that help covay they message.
Why do Artists Produce Preliminary Plans? (sketches, brainstorms, storyboards, etc?) Articles make preliminary plan so they know what they want to achieve with their art. They also do them to see what their ideas will look like.

In this project, I definitely acquired some skills of how to be concise with my art. While in other projects it was possible to get over-zealous, it was vital here to stay simple and short. Too much design meant too much to look at!
From this project, I'll definitely take my logo with me, and use it for some things. It would be fun to have a logo I made on something! My connection to this logo doesn't go too far. Honestly, I really like the logo I made, but it doesn't seem to really reflect myself all too much. However, it does definitely give an air of being organized and collected to me. Below are some of the iterations of my logo, and to the right is some of the final designs of my logo, credit to the upper-right-most logo goes to Andrew! |
Design a Logo Project
|
In this project I learned how the design process went to make a logo, also I continued to refine my skills in taking critiques and applying them my work. The thing that I am going to take away from this project is my logo, also I will take the skills to design any other logos that I will need to make in the future. What makes my logo personal is that it is one of a kind and it also has my favorite shape. I really enjoyed this project, I felt that I learned a lot that I will and can apply at Animas ans in life outside of school

Self Portrait Project
|
In this project we were tasked with making a self portrait to show our growth in digital arts. I decided to do this in Photoshop because I felt that this would show the most amount of growth because all the rest of my projects are in Photoshop. We also were asked to answer two questions, these are: “To what extent does a work of art depend on the viewer’s point of view?” and “What problem solving skills are employed in making visual reflections of self?”.
To what extent does a work of art depend on the viewer’s point of view? For my art it really relies on the viewer’s point of view, because my art is stark and to the point. I think that this could be taken as boring by some but others could find a meaning in the art. What problem solving skills are employed in making visual reflections of self? This really depends on your objective for the art piece. If you are trying to make a metaphorical point, then you run into the problem of having to portray your metaphor. It really depends on what your objective is because that determines what problems you may face. |
Teacher Creatures
Our Project Objectives: Envision and Critique to reflect. Recognize, demonstrate, and debate philosophic arguments about the nature of art and beauty (aesthetics).
Project ReflectionIn this project we chose a teacher or teachers to change them into someone or something else. I chose Britt Gordon, Studio Art teacher here at Animas. To find out what she wanted to be transformed into, I sent her a survey. After that I started gathering images, I started with the background. Then I started finding the people I wanted to put in the picture. Then I had to think of a way to put them together cohesively and in a successful way. The Point of this project was to give us practice making “Realistic” work in Photoshop. We had a very strict rubric for what we needed to do to get an A. This included having at least eight different images, and refining the edge on each one.
The hardest part about this project was trying to match the Hue and Saturation. This was because the different layers were not from the same image so their lighting was not consistent. I had to do my best to match the different Hues in the different pictures. Every artist and designer has their own style. Another point of this project was to figure out what our art style is. I feel that I can't find what my art style is with one project, I feel that I need to do more projects to find my style. To compare this to my outside life, people ask me what is my cooking style and I tell them that I don't know. This is because I have not had the time to make my own. This is how I feel about art as well. |
Photoshop Tutorials
This is the Real Smoke brush from http://www.brusheezy.com
This is the cracked face tutorial. I used the crop tool, eraser and opacity tool.
This is the color changing tutorial. I used the magic wand tool and the hue and saturation to change the color.
The Real Moon: Foreground, Middle ground, Background
In this mini project I learned about, proportion, definition of foreground middle ground and background, also I learn about some tools that I did not know how to use. Proportion is how things look compared to how they what there real size. For example if something is in the background it will look smaller than it real is. Foreground is when the objects close up and in focus in this astronauts are in the foreground. Middle ground is when large objects are in separate but smaller are blear together. Background is when you cant tell that there is any dentifrice between the objects, in this image the back ground is the mountain.
